The suction promotes increased blood circulation which may relieve muscle tension, promote cell repair and aid relaxation.

Founder and chiropractor, Jean-Baptiste graduated in 1992 from Palmer Chiropractic College West, USA. His journey into chiropractic began in his late teens when he became aware of his passion for understanding the human body as a whole. This naturally led him to the world of chiropractic.

During his years spent in California, he witnessed the chiropractic profession as the leading force of alternative medicine. He believes an increase in research, growing faith in the body’s own healing powers, and freedom of opinion within the health industry is challenging established medical thinking. JB believes this field has offered him the opportunity to fulfill his passion and discover alternative ways to positively influence the body and mind. He considers chiropractic a preventative and holistic approach to health.

After graduating in the USA, JB worked in private practices in France and Italy, before moving to England in 1997. He opened and has successfully run the Chiropractic Health Centres ever since.

The emphasis on treatment and education at our clinics stems from JB’s desire to spread the positive impact chiropractic has had on his own life to the lives of his patients. He insists that those working with him at the clinics put an emphasis on communication in order to properly understand and deliver on each patient’s needs.

>“Our concept is simple, and that is why it works. Influence the nervous system and you will always get changes.”

Having experienced the benefits of exercise, nutrition, and meditation on his own well-being, JB combines chiropractic with general advice on all these areas to help guide his patients to optimal health.

JB is passionate about learning in order to share, challenge, and progress the science of chiropractic. This involves attending seminars and reading research papers on subjects as varied as neurology, nutrition, exercise, or meditation, enhancing the successful management and treatment of his patients.

He recently specialised in the treatment of horses alongside his chiropractic clinics, recognising the benefits spinal corrections have on their performance. For more information on his equine services, please visit London Equine Chiropractic or contact the clinics directly.

Margaret Heptonstall qualified as a chiropractor in 1989 at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, a QS 5-star university, focussed on research.

Having originally worked as a chiropractic assistant, Margaret witnessed on a daily basis how effective and efficient chiropractic care was in addressing the wide range of symptoms that patients brought to the clinic. This developed into a deep desire to study and to practice chiropractic herself, and she went on to study at university level to complete the 5-year Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic) degree course.

During her 20 years of practice, she often observed an overlap between a patient’s biomechanical symptoms (back pain, headaches, muscular tension, recurrent injuries) and the additional emotional stresses and challenges that a patient might coincidentally comment on during their chiropractic treatments. If this clinical overlap surfaced, she noticed that it could complicate a patient’s recovery process.

Margaret decided that this required further investigation if she was to be consistent with her commitment to a wholistic approach to patient care. Now living in London, she began a second 3-year university degree in Counselling, and in 2014 she graduated with Distinction, gaining a BSc in Integrative Counselling.

Margaret now practices as a Spinal Manipulative Therapist (SMT) and integrates her chiropractic training and skill with a mind/body approach to better explore and understand what is happening for her patients. She uses traditional manipulative techniques (Gonstead, SOT) and gentler techniques (Activator, blocking) as well as soft tissue therapies (Trigger Point Therapy, massage).

As SMT treatment progresses and if areas of possible clinical overlap emerge, this can be discussed with patients, who are then able to consider if they would like to explore any presenting issues in a separate and confidential counselling context. Of course, this is wholly dependent upon the patient’s personal decision and wishes. This approach has been shown to have a profound impact on a patient’s clinical experience, and their ongoing physical and emotional wellbeing.

Margaret is engaged in continuing professional development (CPD) and education in both areas and focuses on expanding her knowledge-base of the biomechanics of the body, its functional neurology, and the overlapping emotional and psychological aspects of true wellbeing.

Watching patients progress and thrive motivates her to continuously challenge and improve as an integrative healthcare practitioner.

Brodie is extremely passionate about chiropractic and the impact it can have on people’s lives. Her interest in health and wellness led her to graduate with a Masters in Chiropractic from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic.

She loves how the practice can both reduce pain and dysfunction in the body, as well as maintain or restore general health and well-being. She has always been interested in the effects of lifestyle on productivity and energy levels and works to maintain this holistic approach with her patients. Brodie lives by these principles in her own life, regularly practicing yoga and making homemade healthy food.

Brodie loves treating a variety of patients with a special interest in pregnancy and paediatrics. She is certified in the Webster technique and really enjoys treating women throughout their pregnancy.

“It is so important to have good nervous system health as the nerves control every function within the body. Without good spinal alignment and healthy spinal movement, the body won’t function like we ask or expect it to. Chiropractic treatment promotes good communication between the brain and body to allow the body to work to its optimum.”

Brodie also has a love for animals and believes they can benefit from chiropractic just as much as humans. Most animals have spinal tension just like humans do and chiropractic can really help to improve the animals’ movement and general overall health. She recently qualified as a canine and equine chiropractor with the IAVC, setting up her mobile animal chiropractic service ‘Animals Aligned’.
